The advantage that a silicone radiator hose has over a standard rubber radiator hose is that the silicone hose can handle much greater temperatures and they are resistant to ozone exposure, oil, and other engine fluids and electrochemical degradation, which means that silicone radiator hoses last about five times longer than a standard rubber radiator hose.
